Besides, my school does use Outlook as a mail service for all teachers and students. Though admittedly, it's not in Germany, so I dunno how things work there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've never heard of a German school demanding their students to use one single mail service, but I also got out of school roughly when the big wave of techno-schooling took off in Germany (2015).

Anyway, it that had been a thing during my time at school, I'd have been very much against that, depending on the service.

It's not so much that they demanded we use a single mail service as they create emails for us and give us, through which they contact us and provide us services (such as MS Teams).

Come to think of it, I think it's provided by the state government. That or a catholic network, if you go to a private school.
