The Seventh Circuit could have checked government overreach in conducting invasive electronic device searches at the border. They failed. eff.org/deeplinks/2019/05/seve

Gotta love what @purism are doing with Librem One. Streamlining things like Matrix and Mastodon into a suite like this is great.

Here's hoping that it catches on with the masses

Actually doing content moderation well is very, very difficult, and you should be suspicious of any claim to the contrary. eff.org/deeplinks/2019/04/cont

fellow and ! And to the fellow advocates of ! I was humming music a lot during my sleep, especially the part where Frank Walker flies around the Edge of Tomorrowland.

Folks, for years: We have a problem called Surveillance Capitalism, it’s a systemic problem arising from socio-economic factors…

Ex-Googler: Hmm, this problem, very exotic… what shall I call it without criticising either surveillance or capitalism? Time well spent?

Folks: SURVEILLANCE CAPITALISM! It’s the feedback loop between accumulation of information (surveillance) and accumulation of wealth (capitalism)

Ex-Googler: …human downgrading?

🤔

Only when science and technology are used with human concern in a world in which all of the earth’s resources are held as the common heritage of all of the earth’s people can we truly say that there is intelligent life on earth.

Even if I do want Purism Librem 5, I HAVE got to give credit to Google for making technologies accessible for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. If only the open source community could step up and make it easier for deaf to make and receive phone calls with a smart voice assistant.

Live Relay is similar to using a TTY device with a relay service such as Florida Relay or Sprint Relay. Voice recognition has improved dramatically over the past couple of years but still needs a long way to go.

No need for dialing 711 and no need for TTY.

Ah, in would be so much fun and useful!!! I'm and I could make use of Live Relay. Of course, I can speak and hear, but I do want to see text as well if I don't understand what they're saying.

First time running any sort of AMD hardware – let alone the CPU *and* GPU – and gotta say, I'm blown away with the open source drivers.

It's night and day between AMDGPU and the proprietary nonsense Nvidia puts out. No Wayland compatibility issues and Cities Skylines is running the same/better in Arch than Windows (!!!).
