1/2 While I do not believe in a higher power, I think it can be beneficial for people to do so. My problem has always been with the organization of such things. No one should completely agree with one's neighbour about faith because it is very personal.

2/2 My faith, or lack thereof, doesn;t lead me to seek association with other atheists. I do believe that if I had just been encouraged to believe in what I wanted as a kid, my beliefs would probably align a lot closer to Catholicism than it does now. Or at least to the message of love and acceptance that the bible preaches and not the message of hate peddled by the Catholic church.
