@mpjgregoire @fssofdeath Well, no need to bother with the hard work of trying to improve things when you can blame any problems on others anyways! That's certainly the approach the Kenney government has pursued. Any time any problem is pointed out, the blame turns out to *actually* be on B.C., or the Feds, or Trudeau, or Notley . . .

So I think it's not even so much about getting leverage against Ottawa (although I'm sure they hope for that) as it is a matter of good old fashioned scapegoating.

I dunno how the real olden days were exactly but it seems that for most of my lifetime politics have been more about blaming others than fixing anything. We have to have been better at things in the past, because in the current climate we would have never achieved anything of what we have.
