Is it lawful to withhold money from an employee's paycheck if they got a speeding ticket in a company vehicle while off the clock.

Quick-ish note about Trump's "TRUTH" network maybe getting sued by the Mastodon project. The Mastodon people don't like Trump, and that's a great reason to attack him, but in this particular case, assuming the publicly stated dispute is truthful, TRUTH is violating Mastodon's copyright license.

This is a message from The Information Technologies and Communication Authority telling me I can use my device (IMEI number sent in the clear in the text) for 90 days without registering it (something I first encountered in Turkey years ago). Also note, they took a copy of my passport while buying the prepaid SIM card (something they also do in Belgium).

Offences commited during Feeding of the 5000 (in the bible):

* no covid-safe plan, greater number of people than maximum gathering size, no masks, no QR check-in enforced, no covid marshals, no per-square-metre density limits or enforced social distancing
* no gluten free, low sodium or vegan option (medical, faith based discrimination)
* no toilets provided, no infant care facilities, and no disability access (OH&S laws violation)
* No refrigeration, fish out of fridge > 2 hours, no valid food handling certificate, no council licensed food premises to serve from (Food Safely laws)
* No 'working with children' checks, police checks, or "working with children and vulnerable adults" training and guidelines (Duty of Care)
* Event staff weren't wearing proper identification
* No qualified first aiders or paramedics were organised to be in attendance

These things are all well and good, by the way. I don't mind that we do them, it just feels a bit ridiculous sometimes.

Here's a little thing that may not be obvious to many people....

When you install an open-source app from Google Play or the Apple app store, there is no guarantee that what you install actually matches the public code.

@fdroidorg are doing a great service. They independently build the public source code for apps from scratch, review for common issues, and publish their builds. Thanks to "reproducible builds" it's possible to verify they do not tamper with the code.
