`brew install` ...?
@EdwardTorvalds@mstdn.io
So, it's like this
1. Run `./gibMacOS.command` -- specify the version you want
2. Run `./BuildmacOSInstallApp.command` -- drop the folder in that gibMacOS.command created
3. Double-click the installer, proceed as expected.
Despite the file extension, they're just python scripts, one of which links to a blog post, may be of interest.
But yeah, the readme sucks, I get that.
@EdwardTorvalds@mstdn.io
My friend gave me the obscure commands to run... but basically they are two interactive command line applications. One downloads the files (after prompting you to ask which system version you want), and the other builds the installer.
I'll check my bash history to see if that helps.
@EdwardTorvalds@mstdn.io
https://github.com/corpnewt/gibMacOS can be used to install major macos system updates (download and build installers) without going through the app store or system update panel.

Apparently, for at least 1% of people, "basic education" does not include the ability to read.
Twice a week I go grocery shopping at a well known grocery chain. Since December 1st in The Netherlands face diapers have become mandatory in public area's including shops. I have never worn one while shopping and I still refuse to do so at the risk of a €95 fine. The employees of the shop are no problem. None have said a word about it yet. While other people look at me like I am a criminal, I look around for other non mask wearers. So far I have not seen one. All these sheep sadden me 😟
@MartinJJ
(Or maybe that they'll have gotten mandatory vaccinations in place by then 😂😭)
@MartinJJ
This is great news! It means the 'globalist elites' or whoever is *really* in control will end the lockdown before next May...
@philcolbourn
IMO typing words on a phone is much more frictionless than typing special characters (having to switch modes on your keyboard, along with all of the glancing back and forth to make sure you entered it correctly). Several words with conventional (or no) capitalization is much easier to type...

Oh, yes it's certainly inconvenient.
Power button to usable desktop: 48 seconds
Power button to screen off: 7 seconds
So, there's a minute wasted every time I use my laptop.
Is FileVault (2) really secure? It's certainly more convenient (and without publically known exploits), but FileVault 1 wasn't.
@aral
I just shut down my laptop whenever I can't keep my eye on it.
Happy to meet you wherever you are on your journey (software or spiritual)
