3 years ago I volunteered to create a new edition of Ethan Winer’s 1990s BASIC programming book using LibreOffice (@libreoffice). Over the span of a year, with Ethan’s editorial input, I rebuilt the book layout from TXT sources in , and recreated all diagrams from scratch using , and . It turned out great!

@saleh_gnutux @libreoffice @gnutux @bassam And for digitizing paper based history in open formats to restore and protect its accessibility. It's bo longer stuck in the 1990s hehe.

I was able to provide Ethan with all open document format originals (like ODT) so everyone can access and share the body of work.

There's a scan of the old paper book available at archive.org but it's rights managed through the lending mechanism.
