How do you know you have failed utterly as at #design and need to reconsider your choices?

Man, I SO miss buttons now.
I turned on my grandmother's old flip phone a few months back and got hit with a wave of -- not nostalgia, but realizing how much better even a stupid T9 keyboard is to a touchscreen-only device.
The keyboards on touchscreen-only devices tend to be more configurable and, as they're software, replaceable.
I'm using one with a compose key (though it could do with being able to read XCompose-style configuration files). Try that with a stupid T9 keyboard.
@lp0_on_fire the main concern is cost, capacitive buttons are significantly cheaper.
