@seldo @chris_stevenson Ah, OK; thanks. May as well re-post this, then: (I think I saw this here in my mastodon feed)
Sure you’ve heard of Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig, but what about Jackie Mitchell? She’s the 17 yr old pitcher who struck them both out consecutively in 1931.
Babe Ruth was quoted saying women “will never make good” in baseball bc “they are too delicate.”
The next day, the NYTimes reported, “The prospect grows gloomier for misogynists.”
There’s far more to Jackie’s impressive baseball career https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/meet-jackie-mitchell-the-girl-who-struck-out-babe-ruth.html

@lethain One big difference I've noticed living in Africa, Europe, and the United States, is that in the US, "chore dates" are missing.
In the US, when people hang out with friends, there has to be some event: dinner. Listening to music. Going somewhere. Friends don't come over while people do laundry. We don't go to our friend's house just to go grocery shopping with them, or get an oil change.
I do that kinda stuff with my friends, and it's great! Recommend. 👍🏿
I will watch you do dishes!
This strip came out in 1995. I’m afraid of what Calvin’s dad would have to say about technology in 2022. 😬🫠 #CalvinandHobbes
Domestic flights in #France between two cities connected by train, and shorter than 2.5 hours, are now banned. Cool idea.
Every time I run https://fedifinder.glitch.me I find more former Twitter users have migrated. 25% of the people I followed on Twitter are on Mastodon now.
