@carlie @dangillmor the reason is competitiveness with whatsapp!!! users of whatapp would make the transition much easier to Signal!
@smoothoperatorgr @dangillmor do people migrate from Whatsapp to Signal? Those feel like different demographics to me. Whatsapp users generally use it because "everyone else does". Signal users are looking for privacy and end-to-end encryption (I know Whatsapp claims to have that too but they've had too many security breaches for me to take them seriously).
