@mike Lenovo is disabling booting from anything that is not Windows (after Microsoft asked) and Netflix might stop working on Linux (some other streaming services aren't supporting it and Netflix also didn't in the beginning so guess it's not too difficult to cut Linux-users off). Sounds great😐️

BTW, this is the target audience of an ad that Facebook run on Twitter telling the good old small and medium-sized businesses tale.
Just lobby ads for policy makers.

This also works with a lot of other shortened links as some of them are branded bit.ly links and some other services have copied that function:

🤔 If I can hitchhike through the world, then it should be possible to boost through the Fediverse. Please boost me! I will try to write about this trip. Thank you.👍
Kind regards Teoma 💙
@ocean Have they removed other non elementary apps as well? I remember they only had elementary apps in the appcenter of OS 0.4 (I guess). I think they added them for OS 5

#LibremOne's #LibremSocial has removed the local and federated timeline. I don't know why they thought it would be a good idea but it feels pretty isolated
…I’m seeing people say “just don’t use an iPhone.” It’s not that simple when everyday things like financial apps with two-factor authentication are locked into the two main platforms.
We need legislation to ensure critical services use open standards so you can use your Pinephone to buy lunch in the future.
It’s shocking how easily some folks jump to “just go live in a cave.” No, that’s not an acceptable alternative. We deserve to partake in modern life without sacrificing our human rights…
Here's an #experiment:
As #LibremOne's #Mastodon instance #LibremSocial has no local and no federated timeline I guess almost nobody is reading my toots (followers only, I guess)

Feel free to elaborate how you found this, it's getting lonely over here...
@notaleman I suggest #MATE. It's lightweight, customizable and not trying to be innovative by constantly removing features like GNOME
It's not as lightweight as Xfce but it doesn't miss anything
And it's not as customizable as KDE but when I tried it, it felt like it was too much
MATE is a good combination of their strengths without being too much into their category of being light or customizable
Just discovered this:
If you write an unlisted toot which contains a #-tag the web interface tells you that they will only be visible in public toots, however, you can discover them over the user's featured tags list or by adding /tagged/ and the #-tag.
For example all my #libremSocial-posts can be found here: https://social.librem.one/@bsp/tagged/libremsocial including the unlisted one above⬆️
I just discovered that either I can't write DMs and Followers-only toots from #libremSocial's (mobile) web interface or it works differently than public and unlisted toots🤔
If anyone's interested in the differences:
#LibremSocial has no local or federated tab, they don't seem to be supported on librem.one anyways

I just used a Mastodon app for the first time:
I installed #tusky, #husky (which describes itself as a Pleroma app) and #LibremSocial (looked natural to me as I'm on their instance). Seems like I found either the only two Tusky forks on F-Droid or F-Droid is full of Tusky forks (at least I think Tusky's the original)
Which one will I uninstall?🤔
Here's a little thing that may not be obvious to many people....
When you install an open-source app from Google Play or the Apple app store, there is no guarantee that what you install actually matches the public code.
@fdroidorg are doing a great service. They independently build the public source code for apps from scratch, review for common issues, and publish their builds. Thanks to "reproducible builds" it's possible to verify they do not tamper with the code.
