Hierarchy of Failures in Problem Resolution

So you've got a problem to solve. That can go wrong at any one point. Or, conversely, you've got to get all of this right:

Failures of awareness. "The first step is admitting you've got a problem".

Failures of diagnosis

Failures of etiology

Failures of objective

Failures of redress

Failures of communication

Failures of execution

Nobody beats a bacterial or viral infection by arguing it to death

My increasingly convinced take: fascism & demagoguery generally are a communications-based phenomenon in a systems context. It strongly resembles spread of communicable disease.

It's a response to collapse of former mental world models, at societal scale. That triggers an informational overload ... from a loss of formerly-effective filters.
