I just want you guys to know that the multiple *years* I've had my music on Spotify and iTunes have still made me less money than the first two weeks of the same albums on Bandcamp.

Please support artists directly if you can.

This week is #TransAwarenessWeek. A good time to inform yourself about the many issues people that are trans face every day. And it would be even better if you stand up for trans rights all year. :trans_flag:

Inspired by
@ErikHellman@twitter.com
complaining that there should be an Android developer option called "Keep screen on while ADB is connected", I hacked up a quick prototype app to do just that.

For users who already updated to Android 12, you'll need to manually grant a new permission to CCTG, see here for details: codeberg.org/corona-contact-tr

(Normally those things only take effect when apps opt into new platform behaviour... except this time apparently 🤔 🤷)

I feel like thinking like this is why it's stll so difficult for people to start using Linux. If a full third of the community thinks that installing things from source is the easiest way to get a program, that's going to affect how they provide resources and what sort of help they're giving to people who are starting out.

My uncle just finished 1.6 kg, 700 pages long dictionary of Northern Sami, a language spoken by around 20,000 speakers.

Sami are an indigenous people who have inhabited large parts of Northern Europe spanning from Russia to Norway for millenniums.

He has dedicated his life to advocate for their rights and preserve their languages and culture. This book is a major contribution in an effort to ensure that this ancient language will be passed on to future generations.

people really see Linux running on some device and their first reaction really do be "but can i use X feature", as if the developers got paid for any of the probably 100s of hours of work they did.

we really need to teach people to stop being consumers.
