First example we at MELPA have seen of an #emacs package getting hacked (upstream of us, in GitHub): https://github.com/kubernetes-el/kubernetes-el/issues/383
Sorry to be that guy (just a guy), but:
Codeberg has been under a DDoS attack for hours. I've been supporting, praising and recommending Codeberg for a while now, and situations like this remind me why - a small team running on community donations, fighting to keep FOSS infrastructure alive.
If you rely on Codeberg, consider donating. I will be adding to my donation tonight.
Fun fact: Codeberg was born as a direct consequence of a false DMCA takedown (those were very popular a decade ago) against the @gadgetbridge repository—an indie Android app that helps users conttol their own gadgets (smart wearables). If that didn't happen, we most likely wouldn't exist today.
Gadgetbridge is still hosted on Codeberg to this day and available on alternative app stores such as @fdroidorg and @IzzyOnDroidOrg.
There is a new short domain name for #PuTTY!
At present, this is just a "landing page": a nice short name to remember, which will redirect you to the full PuTTY website at the same longer URL where it's always been.
But unlike putty.org or other third-party landing pages, this one is run by us, the actual PuTTY team, and it doesn't have a weird separate agenda of its own.
I intend to move the main PuTTY site over to that domain in the future, and leave just a redirector at the old location. But first I want to get the word out, so that people know which site to trust.
If anyone is still linking to putty.org, here's a place to link to instead. Please spread the word!
