One of the best books on I've ever read,
The Norwegian Method Applied by
Marius Bakken the creator of Double Threshold

@alunpg I like the book but think it is more appropriate for those racing less than half marathons. I was also very disappointed that, although there were three sample weeks, there was no marathon plan included. I think he sells his marathon plan separately.

@MarvinFreeman
For me the book is good as I run 1500, 5K & sometimes 10K. What I like about it most is the way he describes the method itself and how to impliment it.
Maybe for Marathon you should look at the book Norwegian Singles Method by James Copeland. I haven't read it myself yet, but someone from my running club has and says it's very good

@alunpg Yes. I have it ordered!

You might like Easy Interval Method. Another not-marathon book. Lok emphasizes muscle reactivity, which seems rather like Bakken's "tone." Also emphasizes the sweet spot training zone.
