Maybe it's the sociology training. The arbitrary bits of our society (fiat money, gender, etc) have always seemed so...movable... for me.
Sorta the opposite of some of my SO's who know contractors. The idea of walls being altered freaks me out, but is second nature to them.
So my teacher went from saying that culture is being diluted because garfield says "idiot" on 90's TV to saying trans people are just confused.

OK at this point I feel ashamed to even ask....but when it comes to research I've always used google scholar, that's the source my university recommends.
But I've heard the term 'open science' going around in #Foss spaces, what are some good sources for open research?

Abolish copyright.
You can charge for material things - paper, ink, packaging material, the time of the workers to prepare it. You can even charge for bandwidth, server upkeep, and electricity. But information has no material cost and therefore cannot be sold.
Exercise civil disobedience: it's your obligiation as a good citizen to be a pirate. We can negotiate again when they change the law to make copyrighted works enter the public domain within our lifetimes.

So today on my communications class the teacher told us about the importance of respecting intellectual property online.
Cite sources and get permission kind of deal, and yes I did brought up creative commons and the fsf and suddenly all of my classmates sided against IP online
