Yeah, that's something I worry about. I only have the gpg key for my YubiKey backed up via USB. I have copies on *four* USB drives, which gives some redundancy but hardware failure still seems like a potential issue.

I'm only missing three things required for that plan:
- a way to write optical disks,
- a way to *read* optical disks, and
- optical disks

PaperKey is good for backing up GPG keys: https://www.jabberwocky.com/software/paperkey/ it’s included in Tails too.
As for backups it’s good to have multiple tokens from different batches or vendors, to avoid all of them failing at the same time :)
