::: Ubuntu Touch (OTA-24) released
Many see a problem in the fact that it is still powered by old Ubuntu 16.04, though!
Move to 20.04 started, and it will have years of support left when the transition happens, BUT:
When they're done, things are already again behind.
Should the team ALREADY just target 24.04 at this point?
The mobile OS is in "alpha" state anyway still. What do you think?
The current way, when Ubuntu Touch uses something remotely modern, say, Fedora may already have several mobile entities: Plasma Mobile, Phosh, even Gnome Shell Mobile?
Trying to keep outdated whole working just ends up more work?
Either way, the work on Ubuntu Touch is amazing and infinitely appreciated. Opinions would be great on this!

@Linux not like anyone should care, but its a reason that's put me off investing any time exploring Ubuntu touch
If there are actually many feeling the same way, then we have found a huge problem and it should really be discussed with the team.
@Linux @Eninic The thing is that updating from Xenial to Focal has been a huge effort for a small team, especially since a lot of dependencies were patched rather than upstreamed for Xenial. Focal will be more upstream, so the next update should hopefully be less demanding.
Everybody would love to be on 22.04 already, but doing a huge amount of work in a small team takes time. For now 20.04 will be huge.
For 22.04 sooner, contributions or donations help. :)
@sab @Linux I don't underestimate the work involved. It's simply that: with a focus on older versions, the project doesn't align with my interests or use cases. As originally stated: I see no reason that anybody should care about that :)
