I think it's fair to consider that a full on consensus model isn't necessarily feasible or even desirable to these admins. It would also be problematic to them if they essentially lose their moderation power on their own server to infiltrating parties.

Although I suppose a transparent process I cannot vote in would still in some way be democratic since I'd be able to go to another provider :)
