If you're off to uni this month and you're a UK citizen, for goodness sake make sure you register to vote, especially if you weren't old enough to vote in 2016.
There's going to be a general election, probably in November, and if you aren't registered at your uni address pretty much straight after the start of term then you won't get a say, or you'll have to travel home to vote. All UK unis are able to help with voter registration. Most can do it during student registration.
Unless, of course, you're okay with well-off pensioners deciding your future again.
