UK politics / Call to action
Remember to ask the young adults in your life if they've registered to vote and to sort it urgently if they're not.
Politely walk them through the process of registering and voting and why it's vitally important if needed and be helpful and empowering rather than preachy and attacking:

We've soon got the opportunity for an admittedly far from perfect socialist government. Much rather that than the fascist shitshow we've sleepwalked into though.

@twee The chances of that happening are slim to none. The council would have to take you to court first and it's highly unlikely they would spend the money to do that, just because someone refuses to fill out the form for the electoral register.
re: UK politics / Call to action
@twee I'd been off the electoral register for years and the worst that happened was someone with a clipboard knocking at my door demanding my name. That's happened a few times. I never gave it to them, even when they got uppity and told me it was "the law!" I never heard anything more beyond the usual letters.
And to be clear, I'm not on the electoral register now because I want to vote but because it helps secure a mortgage.
