With the data for the year published, it's now clear that 2020 saw the third-largest proportional increase in deaths of any year, running back to at least 1850. Only two years were more deadly: 1918 and 1940, the Spanish Flu and the Blitz.

@jordanbpeterson I'm gonna need to see those numbers and the sources. With all due respect, comparing this theatrical pandemic with those very real crises is disingenuous. We have a pandemic of cases not deaths, unless the seasonal flu is now considered a pandemic. If so then we most certainly are in a dystopian nightmare.
