@motomurphy
yes, but tell us the fix!
@syntaktis There was a rub spot on the wiring harness behind the speedometer. It shorted out the main fuse.
@syntaktis What year do you have? No taping is not a waste. Some spots need wire loom added. There was a recall on few years. This post has some good spots to check. https://klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?s=29e4896f56d62f899d94b42b0dfc5833&t=58585
The klr650 we were working on was a 2009. My 2008 had some spots too.
@syntaktis haha. You think they would use more wire loom.
@motomurphy
I still can't understand why they are made this way. Also, all the cables might barely fit through the front "neck" of a motorcycle. Or you might have to arrange them in a very specific order, so they don't jam and restrain each other . . . The designers could just create a bit more space there, couldn't they? . . . Somehow these issues must be related.
@motomurphy
I don't own a klr. You might even say I don't own a motorcycle. It's a kawasaki cub!. . . But I guess wires worn out against the metals is a common problem to many motorcycles.
