Unless companies making these shitty products lets us have full control of our stuff with reparability, I'd rather stick with old fashioned stuff that don't need to be replaced.
For example I have a fridge in my apartment that is from the late 1980's and it still works fine, just some duct tape on the handle, some hot water with wax on the seals that's all it needs.
