Can anyone help me understand this? What is it that makes the likes of #ElonMusk and #Trump - who appear to have one skill, hoarding money, that they require the approval of the rest of us?

It seems to be a character defect that they seek to assuage, often at our cost. And yet they look for our approval. Isn't it enough that they have our money?
