Not going into the nation part of the thing. The CAQ making moves in the constitutional spheres can only be a bad sign.
My belief is that they're are doing this, not to strengthen the position of French in Québec and Canada, but as a power play to gain legitimacy for the very unconstitutional Bill 21.
As a Québécois, living outside of Québec, married to an anglo-quebecker, I am sensitive to something like this.
