Did you know that in the RCAF (and other branches of the military I'm sure, I just don't have concrete confirmation) to maintain the rank of Colonel or above you have to maintain a certain level of proficiency in French and if you don't you'll be demoted. At least that's the case on paper.

It's weird world when the military has a more stringent approach to official languages.
