@InfiniteHench I seem to remember with the launch of Destiny 2 people lamented that it was a new game instead of a continued Destiny 1 because it meant starting over the character, gear, vault etc.
Now they're ok with a new game and starting over?
@ellabellafull I can't speak to all the details, but my guess is the idea of "Destiny 3" is that they would bring all our current stuff forward into a 'better' game engine that doesn't break as much.
Seems like a lot of this is coming from frustration due to how often and badly the game keeps breaking lately.
TBC: I don't have a strong opinion either way. But after getting kicked 5x tonight trying to finish RoN, including just from orbit, I am getting frustrated too.
@ellabellafull Part of the discourse I've seen on this is related to the aging game engine. Someone argued it's basically 10 years old, more if you consider the years of development before the game launched.
That factor is blamed for many of the increasing bugs, game-breaking problems, and other stuff over the last ~ year or two. So the idea of a 'Destiny 3' infers a new game engine, a fresh slate of sorts.
