I don't think I can even explain coherently why I hate this, the feeling is too strong

@ekg I guess my issue isn't the fact is a designer label, my issue is highlighting that fact alone in the context of a first for women in space.

It plays into the idea that fashion and designer labels are women's territory. There's only one woman on the crew, it's also going to be a first for POC - they don't feature in the subheading at all.

It struck me as callously sexist,I think (slowly finding coherent words for why I hate this)

@KneeNeart yeah, I assume that the first woman on the moon was incidental. It's pretty common to talk about missions based on what makes them unique or novel, and saying "the first black person on the moon" probably didn't sound as good.

Missions usual become known to the public based on what they are called in the media, so if they referred to it as "the first woman on the moon" they are stuck with it. At least if they want people to know what they are talking about.
