I just want to say how thankful I am for the fediverse, and all the interesting new people I've met here.
I've stumbled in here when I was starting to feel alienated by the internet and social networks, I guess I'm just glad to have this space.
One commonly mentioned danger of a large corporate player like Twitter coming into the decentralized social world is the Embrace-Extend-Extinguish tactic, wherein one entity adopts a common protocol, and once it acquires a large marketshare then makes itself incompatible through custom changes, locking its users in and leaving the common protocol for dead.

actually NAT is good because you need a firewall also I turn off ipv6 because it's insecureand then you have a hundred-comment thread about why NAT isn't actually a good firewall and all the benefits of ipv6 over ipv4 EVERY SINGLE TIME
