Turns out #WatchMate didn't support the older #InfiniTime version that the #PineTime is shipped with (v1.6). The fix is out now: https://github.com/azymohliad/watchmate/releases/tag/v0.4.4
Now it doesn't stop reading out the data from the watch after it encounters the first error (step count in case of 1.6), so everything else works as expected.

I got a Librem 5 USA yesterday and installed the WatchMate flatpak. i was able to upgrade the PineTime watch to the latest InfiniTime version but I cannot get notifications to work. I tried the terminal command you suggested and tried using FlatSeal to change the dbus setting. By the way, WatchMate does not show up in the phone’s notification settings so I cannot grant access to WatchMate notifications that way either. Any suggestions? Thx
@ben hey, so after granting session bus access, does it keep showing that pop-up about it, or it's not working somehow else? The phone notifications settings are irrelevant here, if I understood it correctly. Those are for allowing software to send their own notifications, not for reading others.
