@hn500 This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, especially their customers at this point. Everyone wants the "convenience" instead of the security right?

Do you authenticate to various websites with your Github, Google or Facebook account? Be careful, if you get blocked by these companies, there's virtually no recourse and you might have a serious problem!

@thisisthebreath It's a good thing vaccination started at the same time the number of cases started going up or it could have been much worse 🙃

@hn50 Stablecoin = shitcoin. You expect your money to keep it's value because it's always worth the same amount of a currency that is constantly going down in purchasing power? Utterly insane.

@adam SearX just aggregates search results from some other search engines, it is not itself a search engine. The only open one I'm aware of is Yacy. With Yacy Grid, which distributes and dedeuplicates the index, it may become much more usable.

@hn50 I've lost control of a couple accounts and am steadily migrating away from the last one. I can't imagine getting locked like that, going through all that trouble, and staying with Google. This guy is insane!

@hn50 This sounds interesting and I'd love to have a look. Brave missed the mark. The release date is passed and there's no download or source. What's going on?

@hn50 The main problem I have with Google is that so many of the results seem to be designed to game the SEO to push ads. That's Google's business model; it's an advertising company that has a search engine. Alternatives need to find things based on actual relevancy - not the money they bring in for Google's true customers: ad buyers.

@hn50 This is not even the first time they've done this. When Apple fanboys talk up macOS security, I point to situations like this. Apple's response to vulnerabilities needs improvement.

@adam I finally got around to listening to this and have to say it completely lives up to the hype. Having so much of the narrative put together in one piece really helps to see it for what it really is.
