@adam SearX just aggregates search results from some other search engines, it is not itself a search engine. The only open one I'm aware of is Yacy. With Yacy Grid, which distributes and dedeuplicates the index, it may become much more usable.

@hn50 I've lost control of a couple accounts and am steadily migrating away from the last one. I can't imagine getting locked like that, going through all that trouble, and staying with Google. This guy is insane!

@hn50 The main problem I have with Google is that so many of the results seem to be designed to game the SEO to push ads. That's Google's business model; it's an advertising company that has a search engine. Alternatives need to find things based on actual relevancy - not the money they bring in for Google's true customers: ad buyers.
