Greetings! I’ve been interested in Mastodon for a while, pokes around to find an instance I liked, and I think I’ve settled here thanks to Kev’s article.
I’m a web developer, currently using Rust and Elixir. My distro of choice is NixOS, though I used Debian for a long time before.
In addition to FOSS, I like video games, music, and reading sci-fi/fantasy books.
@kev I had similar, and found the problem was I needed the mouse higher to flatten my wrist angle. With my wrist bent back a bit using the trackball, my hand hurt similar...

Thx for your great work @RegolithL. Now that you gave me an opportunity to try i3 without the hassle of having (to learn) to configure everything by hand... I'm almost ready to fall in love with a tiling WM 😉

This is why we can't have nice things. It's because we have crap things foisted upon us instead by advertising companies.
"I was emailed after abandoning a registration form. I did not click Submit. This is not ok."
It's interesting when even former Google developers start to de-Google-ify their websites. This is from Jake Wharton who quit his job at Google just over a month ago (via Twitter):
"Google has been slowly rotting for years from their products outward."
Reason for removing Google Analytics from his website?
"Performance and privacy. Win-win."
I've spent the past week getting to know myself better and doing some self care.
I am proud to come out as a gay man.
I never thought I'd have the courage to do this and I really want to thank the fediverse for helping me be comfortable with who I really am.
I love you guys ❤️ #pride
We've had literal decades of far too much dystopian fiction featuring police dressed in body armour, wearing masks, and brutalising people. This is universally depicted as not a good thing. You'd think more people would maybe get the hint that when the actual police are so frequently like this, they aren't a good thing either.
We develop CryptPad under an open-source license because we believe cryptography is a vital tool in addressing disparities in power. In case it wasn't already abundantly clear: we're on the side of the black, queer, trans, and other disproportionately policed and surveilled people that have faced prejudice for far too long.
If you're using CryptPad to organize and have any questions about how to use it as safely as possible please do contact us.
