A couple of things to add in the post would be some logs from KH activity generated by stderror from the cluster, from the API server (via audit flag) and also from Falco.
Complain all you want about people not patching....it's job security for some.

Took me several minutes to realize that guest vm tools were working the entire time; i just forgot to enable auto resolution scaling.
