A week ago Unbox Therapy featured the Librem 13 v4 on their channel youtu.be/hVcJgCvFuWo We had no idea they were going to do the review and were so happy that both Lewis and Willy found it "Simple, Clean. The most secure experience you can have." If you haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, which is nearly on 2.4m views, we've got a summary of highlights for you puri.sm/posts/the-librem-13-re

@purism Glad to see that more mainstream channels are picking up on you guys, I'm very close to ditch my Mac for one of these, just saving a little! Are you guys doing any Black Friday deals? :-)

@javi @purism

I think you'll like running linux full time. I've fairly recently switched all my MacOS boxen to linux. Gnome and ElementaryOS (Pantheon) are VERY mac-like (more Pantheon than Gnome, but anyway).

Beyond that, almost any Desktop Environment can be configured to use a dock, because there are standard dock apps like Plank, and CairoDock that work on multiple DEs. Also, KDE has LatteDock, which integrates into their environment pretty well.

@rlaska @purism I used to be a full time Ubuntu user since 9.04 until 14.04 and I loved it but laptop wise I never found one accesible that will play well hence why I ended up on OSX. Thanks for the tip!

@javi @purism
For a laptop, I recommend XFCE or MATE, as they’re both pretty lightweight, and can be configured to stay out of your way, screen real estate-wise.

I use i3 on my laptop, which REALLY gets out of your way, but it has a learning curve.

Happy linuxing!

@javi @purism Of course, I forgot Elementary. It’s as pretty as GNOME, and as smooth as XFCE. Props to those guys; if I weren’t a die-hard Debian user, I’d be on Elementary in a hot second. 😉
