I'm falling in love with MATE on Debian, after trying out ALL the major DEs.

I was just wondering (since you contribute to both distros) if we can get some of the Ubuntu MATE sugar (welcome screen, panel style switcher, etc.) on Debian, even as optional package(s). My MATE experience has been a wee bit bumbling, and I wish I had that welcome screen and some other niceties at the start. ;)
