@thor American recipes are also broken down into fractions of a cup such as 1/8, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, and 3/4. They are also broken down further into tablespoons (which is equivalent to 15ml) and fractions of a tablespoon as well as teaspoons (5ml) and fractions of a tablespoon. We also use ounces and grams as a measurement.
