Seeing the news today of AccuWeather boasting (without evidence) of being the best at hurricane forecasting at the same time that the future of the NWS and NOAA is under threat.
Companies like AccuWeather have been lobbying for a long time to push for the full privatization of weather forecasting services in the U.S. (weakening NOAA), so the timing and nature of this announcement is zero percent surprising to me. The warning signs have been there since at least the first T. administration.
Signal Messenger is warning that Recall, the AI tool rolling out in Windows 11 that will screenshot, index, and store everything a user does every three seconds, poses a risk to its users. Effective immediately, the Windows Desktop version will by default block the ability of Windows to screenshot the app. Of course, Microsoft provides no API to disable Recall from screenshotting specific apps, so Signal is getting creative. They are invoking a digital rights management API that blocks the screenshotting of copyrighted material.

I've submitted a merge request for the Powersupply changes shown here, though I want to do some cleanup before it's ready to merge.

Should I do a quick video on it?

Find an open source project that you use everyday and go see if that developer needs donations. If they don’t, try the next one. Give back to the people that give us so much. Especially when so much is on the line these days.
