Got the 2G CF card to boot! I used qemu with an image of the 40MB drive and a blank 2GB disk image with the exact same number of bytes as the actual CF card. From the 40MB drive I was able to fdisk and sys it, but couldn't set the partition active. I mounted the 2GB image using qemu-nbd and let Linux fdisk make the partition active. Booted the 2GB image in qemu and so I used ddrescue (I like the progress info) to put on CF and it booted in T5200! #RetroComputing #VintageComputing

I gave #Fedora #Linux 41 KDE #Plasma a spin on our kitchen desk PC. Plasma has definitely come a long way since I last visited.

The only issue I encountered was improper display scaling, which was set at 125% by default on a bog-standard 27-inch QHD (2560x1440) monitor. This made everything really big and low res. Easy enough to fix in Plasma settings, but I can't seem to get SDDM login manager to properly scale at 100%.
