So this has been a *day*.
I did get a video recorded. Unfortunately after I did that, I couldn't get back into my openSUSE install. For some odd ass reason, the UUID of the SWAP partition kept changing. Never seen anything like it in my life.
Didn't really have time to troubleshoot it as I had some work that had to be done. So I've re-installed openSUSE for the third time during my 2 year challenge.
What it's reminded me to do, though, is keep better backups.

Just noticed the latest updates for #journalism on #Mastodon. I shared this link and apparently it auto detected that the author was someone on Mastodon and allows you to mouse over their name to see a link to their Mastodon profile. Apparently I wasn't following Mr. Warren, but I am now.
That is awesome, 🙂

Below're are four paintings that were created by my friend Kib. She makes these with just a canvas, some pencils, a ruler and some measuring tools, and some acrylic paint and brushes. Her work's affordable as well, let me know if you're interested in any of these colorful and skillfully made works! ~ #art #arts #nature #naturelover #artlover #handmade #painting #paintings #mastoart #artistsomastodon #handmade #artlover #artlovers #artgallery #artgalleries #supportthearts
My kid wants to be a novelist. She's working on her first long book project this summer; about 20k words in and it's a fun story, but she seems to have hit a wall.
I'm hoping to find resources and guidance meant to help kids plan and finish a first book. If you know of anything that might be useful for a 10 yo, brilliant-but-scattered budding author, I'd be grateful for a tip.
lord knows her parents are not equipped to help.
Thank you!!!

Nearly 30 years ago, I worked as a Unix Hardware Engineer, then Unix/Linux support, then supported 45 statisticians running Unix, and even as a IT Security Analyst. Now? I can't even get a company to look at my resume and give me a chance. A message to the younger folks that I follow: don't let what happened to me, happen to you. At 57, I'm not sure if I have any years left in IT or the tech industry.
