Dear friends from the fediverse:
I sent this message to Jimmy Wales account on X. I think is fair. #GNUHealth helps millions around the globe, yet the donations are pretty much null. I guess remaining independent and denouncing those behind neoliberal capitalism, source of wars, famine and many other social injustices means getting silenced (that also happens in the so called "open source" communities).
Please help us spreading the word and keeping @gnuhealth delivering freedom and equity in healthcare 👇

"Dear Jimmy Wales. For 15 years in-a-row, I just donated again to Wikimedia. We both fight for freedom & equity in health and information. Would you help the GNU Health project? We need healthcare to remain a non-negotiable human right.
Thank you! 🤗 #SocialMedicine

My #PineTime smart watch suddenly stopped working last year (not expensive, but not high quality either). Now I can't decide between buying
1️⃣ an open-source #BangleJS that has more features, supports apps and is easily programmable, but also costs much more and could turn out to be low-quality too,
2️⃣ a high-quality #AndroidWear watch that has all features imaginable but isn't supported by #MicroG. Flashing #AsteroidOS could break some functionality & the “ease-of-use”.
What should I buy?
after a long and difficult fight with git that I don't fully master yet, I managed to submit a pull request for a more sober and complete version of the Infineat watchface with alarm status. The branch with the pink version is available too.
my PR : https://github.com/InfiniTimeOrg/InfiniTime/pull/2068
similar PR : https://github.com/InfiniTimeOrg/InfiniTime/pull/1884

It lets you sync to many types of smartwatches directly, without giving any data to the data pimps. At most, you have to do an initial sync with the corporate app, and then gadgetbridge takes over from there.
No fitbits unfortunately, but many huami and xiaomi devices, which can be had for pretty cheap. Also a couple fully open source ones like the #PineTime

Linux Mint Will Hide Unverified Flatpaks in Software Manager
The Software Manager app in Linux Mint 22 will deliver faster start-up times and a introduce a significant security-minded safeguard for search results. As you may know (and if you don’t, what’s living on Mars like? ;P) the Linux Mint Software Manager (package name mintinstall) allows users to install DEB packages from the Ubuntu/Linux Mint repos as well as Flatpak apps on Flathub. But not all apps on Flathub are verified. So Software Manager will now only show verified Flatpaks. Unverified Flatpaks will not be returned for any search result. Now, a lack of verification isn’t a major red flag
