There is a new short domain name for #PuTTY!
At present, this is just a "landing page": a nice short name to remember, which will redirect you to the full PuTTY website at the same longer URL where it's always been.
But unlike putty.org or other third-party landing pages, this one is run by us, the actual PuTTY team, and it doesn't have a weird separate agenda of its own.
I intend to move the main PuTTY site over to that domain in the future, and leave just a redirector at the old location. But first I want to get the word out, so that people know which site to trust.
If anyone is still linking to putty.org, here's a place to link to instead. Please spread the word!
#Adobe just raised its prices, some are over US$100 a month 😬

@vkc It is the anti-reading thing that has been developing for a while. There is a section of the population that doesn't do long-format reading, tl:dr, for anything more than three or four paragraphs. If a summary isn't readily available, AI can make one.
@vkc It is definitely the muscle memory thing for me. It is hard to let go of it sometimes, I still want to hit SHFT+F7, then 1 to print a document.
I had to head down the historical rabbit hole; Red Hat ran a version of CDE that was a bit different than the Unix versions until they switched to Gnome as the default
@nixCraft In the US, it is not important. Most high school graduates can barely read and write and lack math skills. The OS they use to watch YouTube has no bearing on fixing those problems.
Totally scientific, flawless poll.
If you use Linux, pick your *only* desktop environment. You only get one option. There are no other options you can choose from in this poll. Yes I probably ignored your specific favorite but that's not the point. You only get one option and it's one of these. Do not comment with what you want to see, only select one of these. Only one- no other options. There are no other options in this poll for you to choose or tell me about.

@vkc I am having flashbacks to installing 100+ NE2000 compatable ISA NICS on Windows 95 machines. They had a RJ45 and a BNC connector, we used the RJ45, and I took all the T connectors for the BNC attached them together in the worst, crokedest but chromeiest snake ever.
How many women are on Mastodon's team which builds moderation features?
Serious question. Boosts welcome.

@vkc, You Need to mark it as "non-altered" or something similar because you will upload the newer versions, too.
@nielsk This would be expected based on how the New Outlook works. It's just the web version in a window. There are no PST files for local storage for IMAP or POP accounts; it is all stored on the web.
