Apps... Tons of apps... Is the browser dead?

Today it seems that people believe that nothing works without an app. So, people must have an app for every single website they use, for every bank card, for every supermarket, for everything! Even for telling them that they are or might be sick!
People suppose that apps open up the entire world to them. But they don't. The aim of most of them is to keep them inside one single website, supermarket chain, etc.
When it comes to social media it's the same. People need an app for each one of them. But there are some great apps that can connect us to more than one social network on our great Fediverse. Unfortunately these apps can't deal with all different protocols that there are.
That's when the good old web browser comes handy! Et voilá! One single and great piece of software, one single app with it's handy tabs solves all the connection issues with the several social networks that we love!
Who said that the browser is dead?! libranet.de/display/0b6b25a8-7

Ok, maybe it's not that impressive for a regular person in 2020, but right now I'm playing Neverball in VR mode using cardboard headset with fully FLOSS GL driver (etnaviv) on a GNU/Linux phone (Librem 5) and it's damn amazing! :D @purism

Good news. Microsoft has decided finally to look yet again at our case and this time, we have gotten whitelisted. This means emails to hotmail and outlook are not blocked anymore.

"Holzhammermethode" - managed to rescue data off a failing NVMe in my server with a massive hammer (it helped to cool it to allow getting the data off the drive) 😀

It looks like no matter what we do, and who we speak to (or at least we think we do speak to) we get the same reply that ends any conversation with them. Even if we present evidence from their own system that our domain's reputation is good.

We don't know what to do anymore. We are thinking of just blocking them back at this time and pretend those domains don't exist. We know it will be hard as they are responsible for most traffic (including spam) but we see no other way.

Hello,

As previously stated, your IPs do not qualify for mitigation at this time. I do apologize, but I am unable to provide any details about this situation since we do not have the liberty to discuss the nature of the block.

We regret that we are unable to provide any additional information or assistance at this time.

Best regards,

😡 So after yet another try, we ended up with the same template reply 😠

👾 Good news!👾

After bending down for google, they finally removed the stupid "Harmful software" warning from google's 'safe browsing' which is used by pretty much all mainstream browsers out there.

We did have to create a google account, verify ownership of the domain (meaning connect that account with disroot.org) and beg for forgiveness because of one public share link google did not like. There was no other way to do it which only shows how big players abuse their power.

Based on @craftyguy 's -sdl work i added cryptsetup-initramfs support to the 's image-builder so one can build encrypted images too. There's more work needed for this to hit the factory floor but at least one can build own images with encryption once all is merged. The video shows the devkit since this a bit simpler to debug over serial:

"We didn't want to announce anything until we had modems and could test them in the Librem 5 to ensure they work but I’m happy to announce we just completed that testing and it works!"

SuperTuxKart played on a Librem 5 phone using an external keyboard and a 1080p TV. So this is this "mobile gaming" they keep talking about, huh? :D

0.5.0 is out 🚀 : source.puri.sm/Librem5/phosh/-

This adds more keybindings, "docked mode" (for usage with external screen/mouse/keyboard) and more fixes with multiple screens.

You need recent 0.4.4, 1.10.0 and git master (or backported fixes) for this to work.
