@tzimmer_history presuming Trump actually is a fascist, what do you imagine the consequences will be for America if he does manage to secure one final term in office? I'm struggling to see one rogue politician do much against the apparatus of state.

In contrast, the same state apparatus doing everything it can to rid itself of Trump; each attempt more radical than the last (and I'm referring all the way back to 2016), has been fascinating to watch

Okay, so @CmykStudent finally merged his patch adding SBZ palettes support to @GIMP. You now will have at least basic use for an open file format that supports multiple color models, ICC profiles, i18n. Also, 300+ palettes from various vendors at FreieFarbe.de

@jensorensen so you're not opposed to ideological diversity yourself then?

BTW, can you explain the last panel? The reference went over my head

@jensorensen "The goal here is power." Speak for yourself. The true left speak truth to power

@Picturavis is that processed or is it straight out of the camera?

@jensorensen Really enjoying these comics. I'm finding them fascinating, provocative, and funny :)

@jensorensen But did you not notice that it's Madison and Hunter who are against meritocracy and for affirmative action?

@jensorensen Big Mammoth seems like a contradiction in terms. How can it be algorithm free while only favouring those scientists and politicians who share the same opinion?

@prokoudine seriously though, I remember having this argument with a friend of mine who used to pay may £1000 for 3DS Max beta subscription, so he wasn't even using stable software. I kept trying to convince him to try Blender but he was having none of it. It was free, therefore it wasn't as good

@prokoudine Another factor: psychology. The Ardour binary currently retails for 45USD. In contrast, Cubase Pro retails for 579USD. If you were a serious music producer and had to choose between these 2 products based on price alone, which would you purchase?

@gwidion @CmykStudent @zemarmot could be a useful import/export option. Not sure about XML as a native format tbh.

After discussing with @zemarmot , it turns out you can get non-destructive editing in #GIMP by commenting out two lines of code. :)
Now that we know the basic structure is there, I need to review the code to understand how to implement this properly (GIMP assumes all filters are merged after applying, so that has to be fixed in several key spots).

@aweiss oh, that was a bit misleading. The water's being used for crops, not cows. If you remove cows from the equation, what's to stop the same or different crops from being grown for a different purpose?

@SEGFAULT @panda @stevestreza so what's your conclusion in the end? Can you make a living doing this or are you resigned to being an amateur?

@flyhigh @godpod I don't know enough about Jewish theology to speak for them but I think the Torah serves a similar role. In any case, all three faiths would agree that God will remain opaque to you unless you choose to engage with him.

Perhaps this is why you struggle to understand them. You want some neat definition that will fit in a tweet, but when I give you one you aren't satisfied with it. Nor should you be, but don't be thinking they don't know what God is just because you don't get it

@flyhigh @godpod As for your broader question it's a very old conundrum that perplexed Christians in particular. They devised the doctrine of the Holy Trinity to take on the issue directly. For Christians, Jesus is God, or at least his word, made flesh. In other words, he acts as a conduit thorough which Christians can commune with God.

For Moslems the Quran provides a similar role, only they believe that it is the word of God and so their relationship is more direct.
