Like many of us, I’m one of “Steven Spielberg’s kids” who grew up wanting to become a storyteller because of his films. But let me tell you how a surreal 30-minute lunch with the legendary director brought me and my real father closer together…

3 of my top 10 series of all time are on this list. I never even looked him up until I was watching the "behind the scenes" of the last episode of on my 5th rewatching. I'm guessing if I watch the other 4, my top 10 is going to change drastically.

@toze I was glad to have it on a business trip where I got stuck in the airport overnight and most of the next day but, yeah, it was pretty meh. I had already watched the show 3 or 4 times at that point and I'm watching it again now. I'll never reread the book unless I get stuck on a desert island with it again.

I've been handed a huge archive of sound effects from the Sunset Editorial collection, as well as the "Red" and "Gold" libraries, which were donated to USC Cinema in 1990. Additional split-apart versions will go up, but this is 20+gb of .wav files from original tapes!

@colehaddon "but let’s not pretend his characters were autobiographical" Should that say "weren't"?

Great post as always. I'm not a writer but find them inspiring in plenty of ways.

Finally started reading Psalms. I'm not very far yet but the stories are great and I really love the format. I find I'll pick it up, read a chapter (if that's what you'd call them), then replay it in my head for a while until I get the urge to read the next one. It really helps solidify the characters in my mind.

Fans of the band Extreme, make sure you hear their new release "Rise". In the song Nuno gives us a BIG reminder that he's still one of the best guitarists. 😅
