The #LinkedIn study is, without doubt, ethically inconsiderate. But we should still be concerned with its finding: within "people should use LinkedIn more" is the fact that #capitalism has reduced most #relations to "weak ties" of just faces & values (usefulness for jobhunting). How can we build a large, diverse (perspective-wise) #community, if all we have is just faces that we don't even try to understand? Because such a community isn't profitable for us?

Start of my last week at this current posting and last week in the
I am very excited but also a bit sad. New beginnings are beautiful but they mean the end of something else.

What a wild 12 years this has been.

Using the Toot CLi client for Mastodon with cool-retro-term makes me feel all kinds of warm feelings.

We don't know a millionth of one percent about anything. -- Thomas Edison

Social media, but only by, for, and about cats.

I have encountered more image descriptions on Mastodon in 24 hours than I have in Twitter in a couple of years. Seriously. I'm not exaggerating.
As a blind person, this means a lot to me. If you read this and you describe your images, thank you so, so, so much on behalf of all of us. If you don't, now you know you'll be helping random Internet strangers make sense of your posts by typing in a few more words than usual.

I made a little Python app to draw pride flags of your choice.

So far there's gay, bi, lesbian, trans, enby, pan and ace.

Still needs some bugs worked out, but it's a fun little program.

As a kid I always thought: "Ahh, things will be alright. Grown ups are just over reacting about the world and we have things figured out!"

But growing up you realise how untrue that actually is. It's a mess! The differences on this planet are just enormous and not in a "good way". We are fighting about the most silly things, inventing the most useless stuff and ruing our home in the process. Everyday something new is released and it feels like every single hooman must have every last of it all.

And the biggest frustration for me is that it feels like the people who "rule the world" are all old.. There are no younger people who even have a say in things, I know our gen is the cleanup crew and that's okay but stop making the mess bigger and bigger.

I feel younger people are much more flexible and global focussed, please give us a chance at least..

This is just what I think and feel and I'm prob wrong. At least I hope so

The Gouvernement of Nunavut announcing a territory wide lockdown on December 24th is rough. At least it solves whether or not I should go to a Christmas party.
