Zapstore is only a client that grabs Nostr events from Nostr relays and displays the "app release" events.
Any Nostr client could display those events.
You grab Zapstore from their website or GitHub, just like you do F-Droid.
When you release an app using the Nostr protocol, clients like Zapstore grab the app directly from GitHub, GitLab or whatever platform the developer uses, bypassing the need for repositories.
Lineage runs on a zillionolder older inexpensive phones.
If they can't figure somethjng out, then that's on them. I honestly don't care about zombie sheeple like them. They deserve what they get.
But Zapstore makes it so you don't have to use Google's ecosystem and lets you use a branched, DeGoogled version of the Android Open Source Project, which many of us privacy advocates are already doing.
That's why you run a different fork of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), which most of us privacy advocates as well, such as GrapheneOS or LineageOS.
The Nostr based app store called "Zapstore" has already solved this problem. Zapstore empowers developers to sign and release apps over the Nostr protocol without needing to get permission from any app store or from any governnent or any other entity.
The Zapstore already has most of the useful F-Droid apps, and anyone can release more apps.

I do share share F-Droid, but as of about 6 montgscago, my list of DeGoogled apps now has Zapstore linked as the first option, with F-Droid 2nd.
Releasing apps over the Nostr protocol is a better way of doing releases.
- No need to get permission from anyone
- You can donate money directly to developers using a Bitcoin Lightnjbg wallet.
- You can verify apps come directly from the app developer, and can choose apps Nostr friends/follows, aka Web of Trust (WOT).
