I just wrote some python code for exporting playlists from CMUS to .m3u-format, to be used in my case in VLC for mobile on iOS. gitlab.com/arvidmarklund/cmus-

@dansup About federation: Will there be a page where you can discover images from other pixelfed instances? That would be really nice and I think necessary for it to feel truly federated.

@dansup Great work! I am so looking forward to being able to use pixelfed using an ios app. Also looking forward to increased federation. Are there plans for enabling following and discovery across instances any time soon?

@switchingsocial@mastodon.at Yes works for me as well, but only when you type the exact url (including the https://). I hope that there will be a more human friendly search functionality in the future (not for me I love the hoops of course but for my friends :) ).

I have started to collect unique shops and coffee shops. Those that have not been replaced by some big franchise or chain store. They should not be allowed to spread unrestrained. Just leave the small local businesses alone. I don't really want to get active politically right now, but I have decided to spend more time on these places. Because I'm worth it.

@DuckDuckGo Very nice! The link has an extra html-space " " though for some reason? This broke the link for me (ios/limbremsocial) but it worked when I typed it manually.

@dansup I strongly agree. My fantasy of a future laboratory/workshop has both a vinyl player and a cow. 👌🏻

"Social media, media streaming services and gig economy platforms all use recommender systems to make guesses about what we like by analyzing ours and others behavior. These systems can make an abundance of options seem trivial and sometimes make decisions seem so obvious that we don't even think of them as choices. This is comfortable and saves us time, but will result in the loss of something else."

@Marno Sure! I mean I'm not a programmer and its kind of a quick and dirty solution, but if you want to have a look at it I can email you the files. Maybe someone else can make it into something useful :)

@Marno I see. It compiles htlm and rss from xml-files in the projects /posts and /pages directories. It also generates links from the tags/categories and puts them in all footers. After that I just upload the entire public_html-directory to my web server.

I finally moved my webpage from wordpress to a simple custom made html/css inspired by @ChrisWere et al. and also by the fact that so many wordpress themes has started using google fonts. It was built with a simple python scipt and xml-files. Check it out at: arvidmarklund.com

@purism Nice. Are there plans for including other languages as well? Such as swedish for instance? :)

@rienk @purism I like to hear an answer to that question too.
