4 DAY WORK WEEK, 4 HOUR WORK DAY should be the rallying cry of the left

What do you call a group of people who communicate with ghosts using heavy weights?

I've been using #invidious instead of YouTube's homepage to watch videos from creators that I dig.

Not only does it not get throttled from tmobile but also the interface has a ton less bloat.

It's like #NewPipe for the desktop.

Engels' Instagram would be popping, but Marx would be one of those YouTubers who posts a bunch of multiple hour long discussion videos, promises to post more regularly then vanishes for months

Super unpopular and nuanced RMS take...dear RMS apologists

its almost like having an anime avatar is a political position all in it self

rms, software licensing

re: rms

yes, the media coverage was incredibly misleading
no, he should have been kicked out years ago from all the other dumbass shit he's done

"Attorney at law"
Can you be an attorney at other things?
Attorney at butt fuggin?
Attorney at pizza?

My Mother is starting a master's in education, her homework was to make a presentation about Marx in education.

My Dad, whose engineering degree made him the go-to homework tutor in our family, knows nothing about Marx or the humanities.

Then I come to the rescue with my opinionated toots. My radicalization finally paid off.

I just explained Marxism to my parents and weirdly it made them proud I know about this stuff.

similarly, "policeman" and "policewoman" are unnecessarily gendered -- just say "pig," or "willing tool of the fascist police state"

the terms "landlord" and "landlady" enforce the gender binary. to be more inclusive, you should use gender-neutral terms instead. like "leech," or "parasitic scum." or "human dartboard"

Reading about the RMS drama. Does really seem like they shouldn’t be in any position of power. They seem completely tone deaf as to the implications of their words.

Wired, 1993: Rebels with a Cause - Your Privacy. "On the cover were Eric Hughes, Tim May, John Gilmore, holding up an American flag, faces hidden behind white mask, their PGP fingerprints written on the foreheads. Gilmore even sporting an newly-founded EFF T-shirt. (from Thomas Rid, CS Monitor)"

Wired, 2019: YOU'RE IN PRIVATE MODE. To continue using a private window, sign in or subscribe. The title of the article being denied reads "It's Time to Switch to a Privacy Browser. Ad trackers are out of control".

I think most fediverse apps would be better suited as frontend clients (or mobile apps) which can all connect to the same backend server (probably with some backend plugins or microservices to handle things like video compression).

One advantage would be having one federated identity where I can post toots, articles, photos, videos, events, educational resources, git merge requests, etc, etc, rather than having dozens of disparate identities and contact lists.
