My Mother is starting a master's in education, her homework was to make a presentation about Marx in education.
My Dad, whose engineering degree made him the go-to homework tutor in our family, knows nothing about Marx or the humanities.
Then I come to the rescue with my opinionated toots. My radicalization finally paid off.
@kaniini in what way?
similarly, "policeman" and "policewoman" are unnecessarily gendered -- just say "pig," or "willing tool of the fascist police state"
@liaizon Honestly I have lost hope for software freedom, because were using it not to protect everyone.
It has always struck me as strange that ideas that seem very lefty like software as an abuse of power and privacy as a human right would be used in a right wing context. Free software is being used to platform bigots and protect their privacy, these freedoms and rights are ment for everyone, but currently they are being used by a few racists to take away the right of others.
Wired, 1993: Rebels with a Cause - Your Privacy. "On the cover were Eric Hughes, Tim May, John Gilmore, holding up an American flag, faces hidden behind white mask, their PGP fingerprints written on the foreheads. Gilmore even sporting an newly-founded EFF T-shirt. (from Thomas Rid, CS Monitor)"
Wired, 2019: YOU'RE IN PRIVATE MODE. To continue using a private window, sign in or subscribe. The title of the article being denied reads "It's Time to Switch to a Privacy Browser. Ad trackers are out of control".
Pewds response implied that the media was to blame, ignoring the efforts of 4Chan to twist his videos into alt right propaganda.
If pew was a better man he would call his reactioary fans on their bullshit, but sadly his alt light viewers outnumber the others, he's not brave enough to sacrifice, to leave the bad apples behind and instead blames the media - ironically this still plays into 4chans game, since they also hate the media for being leftwing Jews.

If pewds is alt right / light or not does not matter, because 4chaners have allready encoded their messages to the overall media landscape.
Now that phill reported on the news crediting pool the YouTube algorithm will start recommending reactionary videos to viewers it the most subscribed channel.
If the pewdiepie community still seems non problematic watch this vid:
In the past, several people criticized pewds for being racist, pew fans say this is nonsense, so then the pew critics explained they ment that pew normalizes a problematic ideology while not being racist himself, the pewd community denied normalizing bigotry.
Now that pew is donating money to an organization that opposes racism, the pew community goes insane.
And the only mention of this controversy I could find in the fediverse is from Alex Jones, taking sides against the ADL.
4chans operation seems to have succeeded, the "alternative" media has allready boosted their ideology.
Most notably Phillip DeFranco, who fell for the anti free speech narrative while not reporting on the efforts of 4Chan to boost this perspective. He even pointed to Tim Pool, a reactionary news channel with ties to more alt right channels.
